Aka: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: DeathKeep
Description:
DeathKeep is a first-person dungeon crawler based on Advanced Dungeons & Dragons featuring a large area to explore and real-time combat. Choose from three characters (a dwarf fighter, elf mage, or half-elf fighter/mage) and enter the villain's castle to find three orbs to defeat him with. This was the last game to be released by SSI.
Our Thoughts:
Despite some hilariously bad looking cutscenes and player character designs, graphically the castle that you explore looks quite nice. There's some semi-bad (but amusing) voice acting while the sounds in the castle are suitable to create the atmosphere of exploring someplace dangerous. Gameplay is where things really fall apart. Your character skates around as if they are constantly walking on ice and attacking has a cool down, both of which lead to many cheap deaths.
